Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Confirm Required Connections
Before setting up a Traditional Action Plan:

Enable the Sierra Dialer at the account level.
-
Connect to the Sierra Dialer at the user level.
-
Connect your email account in your user profile.
Step 2: Create a Traditional Action Plan

Navigate to Leads > Action Plans > + New Action Plan > Traditional

Enter a required Name and an optional Description

Click Save
Step 3: Add Activities to the Plan
Click + New Activity and choose one of the following types:

Email
-
Phone Call
-
Text Message
-
On-Site Message
-
Task
For each activity, define:

Assignee (Buyer Agent, Listing Agent, Lender, or Manager)

Timing (when the activity should occur)
-
Weekend settings and drop rules

Notes (optional)

Template or custom content (for emails, texts, and messages)

Auto Send option (where applicable)
Then click Create.
Step 4: Apply the Plan to Leads

Apply automatically via Lead Routing Rules or Tracking Link Generator

Apply manually from:

The Lead Dashboard (bulk apply)

Step 5: Manage Plans in the Action Plan Dashboard
In the dashboard, you can:

Edit the entire plan or individual activities

View leads assigned to each plan

Duplicate or delete a plan
-
Track how many leads are “In Progress” or “Completed”

Filter between Personal and Account-Level plans using the “Level” dropdown
Step 6: Edit Scheduled Dates for Activities
You can change the action date for any scheduled activity:

From the Lead Detail Page under the Activities tab

From the Lead Dashboard under the Tasks/Activities column
Click Edit Action Date to reschedule.
Step 7: Use Contact Templates for Messaging
Traditional Action Plans support email, text, and on-site message templates.
Manage templates under Admin > Contact Templates.

Step 8: Monitor Manual Activities via the Task Manager
Manual tasks (such as calls and reminders) will trigger notifications in each user’s Task Manager when due.

Solution: Ensure you’re the Primary Manager or have the permission “Can manage Contact Templates, Drip Campaigns and Action Plans” enabled in your User Profile.
Issue: Manual tasks not triggering reminders
Solution: Check the Task Manager and ensure activity due dates are set correctly.

What’s the difference between Traditional and Fully Automated Action Plans?
Traditional Action Plans include a mix of auto and manual tasks. Fully Automated Plans run entirely on auto-sent activities without requiring user input.
Will a Traditional Action Plan pause if a lead replies?
No. Unlike automated drip campaigns, Traditional Action Plans continue unless manually paused.
Can I reschedule an individual activity?
Yes. You can edit activity dates from either the Lead Detail Page or the Lead Dashboard.
