How to Insert Listings into a Text Message in Sierra

Quickly send property listings to your leads via text message from the lead detail page.

Why This Feature Matters

Text messaging is often the fastest way to reach a lead—especially in a competitive, low-inventory market:

  • Speed up communication with hot leads

  • Share timely property listings to drive engagement

  • Leverage auto-login functionality for a seamless lead experience

  • Improve lead conversion with faster response times

Step-by-Step Instructions

To Insert a Listing into a Text Message (Web App):

  1. Go to the lead detail page.

  2. Click to open a text message window.

  3. Select + Add Listing.

  4. Search by MLS®# or property address.

  5. Select one or more properties and click Insert Listings.

  6. Send the text message(s) to your lead.

What Happens When the Lead Clicks the Link:

  • The lead will be auto-logged in to their account to view the listing on your Sierra frontend site.

  • For group texts, auto-login cannot be applied (due to multiple recipients). In this case, the listing opens without registration.

Delivery Format:

  • Each listing is sent as a separate text message.

  • Each listing link is sent as a shortened URL, and may generate a preview in the lead’s messaging app.

Best Practices

  • Use text message listings for high-interest leads in time-sensitive markets.

  • Limit to 1–2 listings per message to avoid overwhelming the recipient.

  • Include a short message to introduce the listings you’re sending.

  • Leverage the auto-login advantage when messaging individual leads directly.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Issue: Listings appear out of order or mixed with custom message content

Fix: Contact support@sierrainteractive.com for assistance if listing order or message formatting is not displaying as expected.

Issue: Auto-login doesn’t work for the recipient

Fix: Auto-login only applies to individual texts, not group messages.
