How to Use Text Messaging to Connect with Leads Quickly
The Fastest Way to Engage With Leads and Increase Conversions
Why This Feature Matters
Text messaging is often the quickest way to reach a lead — especially in a competitive, low-inventory market. Here’s how this feature can benefit you:
- Speed Up Communication: Reach hot leads faster than with email.
- Timely Engagement: Share property listings immediately to boost interest.
- Seamless Experience: Use auto-login functionality to enhance the lead’s experience.
- Improve Conversion Rates: Quick responses lead to higher lead conversion.
Real-world Examples:
Imagine receiving a text about a new listing just moments after it hits the market. By accessing this listing through a quick text, the lead is more likely to act fast and schedule a showing.
Step-by-Step Instructions
To Insert a Listing into a Text Message (Web App):
-
Go to the lead detail page.
-
Click to open a text message window.
-
Select + Add Listing.
-
Search by MLS®# or property address.
-
Select one or more properties and click Insert Listings.
-
Send the text message(s) to your lead.
What Happens When the Lead Clicks the Link:
-
The lead will be auto-logged in to their account to view the listing on your Sierra frontend site.
-
For group texts, auto-login cannot be applied (due to multiple recipients). In this case, the listing opens without registration.
Delivery Format:
-
Each listing is sent as a separate text message.
-
Each listing link is sent as a shortened URL, and may generate a preview in the lead’s messaging app.

Include a short message to introduce the listings you’re sending.
-
Leverage the auto-login advantage when messaging individual leads directly.
