Secure IDX Approval and Launch Your Website Faster

MLS Compliance Guide for Your Sierra Interactive Site

Summary

Before Sierra can launch your new website, we need to receive official IDX approval from your MLS board(s). This process ensures your site complies with MLS rules and that property data can be displayed correctly. The sooner you complete this step, the sooner your site can go live.

Why This Matters

IDX approval is one of the most important onboarding steps in launching your site. Without MLS authorization, your site can’t display property listings or be made public. Think of it as the key that unlocks your website once granted, we can move forward quickly with the rest of your launch process.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Check for Your IDX Forms

You should have received an email with the instructions and any required forms. If you can’t find it, contact your Project Coordinator via onboarding@sierrainteractive.com, and they’ll resend everything you need.

2. Complete the Required Information

Each MLS board has slightly different requirements. Commonly requested details include:

  • Full Name
  • Office Name
  • Website URL (include both staging and final URLs if applicable)

  • Names of all agents who will use the site

3. Submit Forms for Approval

Follow the instructions for your MLS to submit your approval request.

4. Confirm Completion

Once you’ve submitted your forms, let your Project Coordinator know via email. They’ll take it from there, work with the MLS, and update you as soon as approval is confirmed.

Best Practices

  • Act quickly: Submitting IDX forms early speeds up your site launch.
  • Be thorough: Double-check that all required users and URLs are included. Missing details can delay approval.
  • Ask for help: If you’re unsure about a step, ask your project coordinator for assistance.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Didn’t receive the IDX instructions? Contact Sierra through onboarding@sierrainteractive.com and we’ll resend them.
  • Not sure which MLS applies? Ask us and we’ll confirm which board(s) require approval for your site.
  • Multiple MLS boards? You may need approval from each one before your site can launch.
