Why This Feature Matters

In today's digital-first world, building trust with online visitors is a major challenge for agents. Prospective clients often visit your website with skepticism, looking for proof that you can deliver on your promises. Without authentic social proof, you risk losing potential leads to competitors who have established a stronger online reputation.

The Testimonials feature helps you solve this problem by providing a simple way to display glowing client reviews. This builds instant credibility, validates your expertise, and helps hesitant visitors feel more confident about reaching out.

Best Practices:

  • Neighborhood-Specific Pages: Display testimonials from clients in a specific subdivision like "Sunshine Acres" on that community's page to build hyper-local authority.
  • First-Time Homebuyer Resources: Add reviews from past first-time buyers to your "First-Time Homebuyer Guide" page to show you understand their unique needs.
  • About Us Page: Feature your best all-around testimonials on your "About Us" page to reinforce your team's commitment to client success.

How to Add a New Testimonial

First, you'll need to add your client testimonials to the system. Think of this as creating a library of reviews that you can pull from later.

Follow these steps:

  1. From your admin dashboard, navigate to the Content tab in the main navigation.
  2. In the secondary navigation bar, click on Testimonials. This takes you to the Manage Testimonials page where all your reviews will live.
  3. Click the green Create New Testimonial button at the top right of the page.
  4. On the "Add Testimonial" page, paste the testimonial text and enter your client's name. You can also add a client photo or a link to their business for extra authenticity.
  5. Click the green Save button.
  6. (Optional but Recommended) After saving, you can add tags to categorize the testimonial. This is incredibly useful for displaying specific types of reviews on different pages. For example, you could use tags like Buyer, Luxury Properties, or Relocation.
  7. Click Save and Continue to return to your list of testimonials. Repeat this process until all your client reviews are in the system.

How to Display Testimonials on a Page

Once you've added your testimonials, it's time to show them off on your website. You can add them to almost any page using the Testimonials Widget.

Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate back to Content
  2. In the secondary navigation bar, click on Content Pages. Select the page where you want to display your testimonials, then click Edit. If you haven't created the page yet, do that first.
  3. On the Edit Content page, find the "Page Components" bar and click Add New Page Component.
  4. From the menu that appears, select the Testimonials Widget.
  5. Choose your display style. The "Call-Out" style rotates through testimonials, keeping the page fresh, while the "Sequential" style lists them all out.
  6. Filter by Tag (Optional): If you only want to show reviews from first-time homebuyers on a specific page, select the "First-Time Homebuyers" tag from the dropdown. To show all testimonials, leave it set to "All."
  7. Give your widget a title, such as "What Our Clients Are Saying." This will appear above the testimonials on the page.
  8. Click Submit to add the widget to the page.
  9. (Optional) If the widget isn't in the right spot, click Sort Page Components to drag and drop it where you want it.
  10. Click Save and View. Always preview the page on your live site to make sure everything looks great.

Best Practices for Leveraging Testimonials

  • Improve SEO with Geo-Tagged Reviews: Use tags for specific cities, neighborhoods, or subdivisions (e.g., "Northwood Estates"). By displaying these testimonials on corresponding community pages, you reinforce local expertise for search engines and site visitors.
  • Build Trust with Niche Audiences: Create testimonial tags for different client types like "Veterans," "First-Time Homebuyers," or "Investors." Match these testimonials to pages targeted at those audiences to build instant rapport.
  • Keep Content Fresh with the Rotating Widget: Use the "Call-Out" (rotating) style on your homepage or high-traffic pages. This provides returning visitors with new social proof each time they visit, keeping your content dynamic.
  • Enhance Credibility with Photos: Whenever possible, ask clients for a professional headshot to include with their testimonial. A friendly face adds a powerful layer of authenticity that text alone can't match.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Problem: My testimonials aren’t showing up on the page.
    • Solution: Make sure you have saved your changes after adding the widget to the page. If you are using tags, double-check that the testimonials have the correct tag assigned and that you've selected that same tag in the widget's settings.
  • Problem: The widget is showing the wrong testimonials.
    • Solution: This is almost always a tag mismatch. Go back to the Testimonials page to review the tags on your reviews, then edit the widget on your content page to ensure the correct tags are selected.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I add testimonials in bulk?
    • No, each testimonial must be added individually using the "Create New Testimonial" button. This ensures each one is formatted correctly.
  • How can I change the display order of my testimonials?
    • If you're using the "Sequential" style, they will appear in the order they were added. To reorder them, you would need to delete and re-add them in your preferred sequence. For more control, it's often better to use tags to create smaller, curated lists.
