Setting Up Your Sierra Dialer Business Information
A Step-by-Step Guide to Getting Your Business Verified in Sierra Interactive.
To fully activate the Sierra Dialer and enable both calling and texting, you must submit accurate business profile information. This includes a U.S. Employer Identification Number (EIN) or a Canada Business Number (CBN/BN), along with other required details. This information is securely passed to Sierra’s carrier partner (Twilio) for Brand Profile and Campaign approval. Until approval is granted, outbound texting will remain restricted.
This process is a mandatory requirement from mobile carriers to ensure compliance and prevent your messages from being flagged as spam. This guide walks you through submitting your information, checking your status, and troubleshooting common issues.

Why Business Verification is Required
Mobile carriers require business verification to protect consumers from spam. Submitting your information registers your business as a legitimate sender.
- Activates Texting: Your Sierra Dialer remains restricted from sending outbound texts until your business profile is approved.
- Ensures Compliance: Providing a valid U.S. Employer Identification Number (EIN) or Canada Business Number (CBN) is necessary to comply with federal telecom regulations.
- Prevents Delays: Incorrect or incomplete information can cause significant approval delays, impacting your ability to connect with leads.
How to Submit Your Information
You will need to provide specific details that exactly match your official government business records.
- Log into your Sierra account.
- Click the gear icon (⚙️) in the top-right corner.
- Select Dialer Settings.

Required Information:
- Legal Business Name: Must match your government registration documents precisely.
- Business Type: e.g., LLC, Corporation, Sole Proprietor.
- Sierra Website URL

Best Practices
- Double-check that your business name and EIN/CBN exactly match IRS or CRA records.
- Submit documents early during onboarding to avoid delays.
- Keep your IRS EIN confirmation letter or CRA CBN registration letter in a secure location.
- If you’ve misplaced your documentation:
- U.S.: Call IRS Business & Specialty Tax Line (1-800-829-4933)
- Canada: Call CRA Business Inquiries Line (1-800-959-5525)
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- My number was rejected → Likely a mismatch between your legal business name and EIN/CBN. Recheck your records.
- Texts not sending but calls work → Your Brand Profile may be approved but your Campaign is still pending.
- I entered the wrong info → You’ll need to resubmit corrected details, which resets the approval timeline.
FAQs
- Can I set up Sierra Dialer without an EIN/CBN?
No. A valid EIN (U.S.) or CBN (Canada) is required for compliance. - How do I know when I’m approved?
Check your status in the CAA → Dialer Settings → Dialer Business Information tab. Approved statuses will display at the bottom. - How long does approval take?
2–4 weeks if your information is accurate. Campaign-only approval delays may take up to 14 days. - Does Sierra keep my EIN/CBN on file?
No. Sierra securely passes your information to Twilio and does not retain it in your profile.
